October 2014 Column - 2015 Erie County budget to be released mid-month

The 2015 Erie County budget will be released by the county executive later this month. Based on meetings and hearings with the administration, I believe that the Legislature’s message of “no tax increase” has been received and we will not see a tax increase in the proposed budget.

Legislator Mills and Rite-Aid to host flu vaccination clinic

Legislator John Mills and Rite-Aid will host a flu vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 6 at the Orchard Park Town Hall, basement, 4295 S. Buffalo St., Orchard Park. The clinic is for adults, age 18 and older, and attendees are asked to bring their insurance card. Most insurance plans cover the vaccination in full. Legislator Mills’ 2014 Hot Dog Roasts total $9,650

Erie County Legislator John Mills announces that the grand total for the 2014 Library Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers is $9,650, an increase of 3.8 percent from 2013.

Legislator Mills announces Elder Abuse Outreach to address threats to vulnerable residents

Erie County Legislator John Mills announces he is hosting an Elder Abuse Outreaches to address the various forms of abuse that threaten senior citizens on a daily basis, and to provide valuable assistance to seniors. In total, more than 1,500 cases of elder abuse are reported in Erie County each year and the Legislators are utilizing experts to address these concerns.
