Erie County Legislator John Mills visited Lawrence’s Tavern in Springville to present owners with a proclamation congratulating them on reaching their 80th anniversary.

Lawrence’s Tavern is operated by Larry and Mike, the son and grandson of Lawrence, who opened the bar in Springville in 1939. Lawrence’s Tavern currently holds the oldest continual liquor license in Erie County. The bar also has a "mucket bucket" drive encouraging patrons to leave their loose change. Through the drive, they have raised over $35,000 for local youth groups, needy families and Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.

Legislator Mills said, “It was an honor to take part in Lawrence’s Tavern’s 80th anniversary celebration. Over the years, they have been an outstanding business in the Springville community, and their generosity has helped those in need. I thank Larry and Mike for everything they have done to serve Springville and all of Erie County!”
