Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro recently celebrated National Barbecue Day at Smokin’ Little Diner in Depew. Smokin’ Little Diner, owned by John Fleming and Russ Braun, serves classic diner food with a barbeque twist. Legislator Todaro presented Fleming with a proclamation to extend appreciation for the pair’s hard work and contributions to the community.

The diner was originally built by the Paterson Vehicle Company, assembled in New Jersey and placed at its current location in 1955. Smokin’ Little Diner is also home to the owners’ original venture Some Great Barbeque Sauce Company which carries nine unique award-winning flavors.

Legislator Todaro said, “It was a pleasure to visit Smokin’ Little Diner in Depew and present them with a proclamation in celebration of National Barbecue Day. For more than 60 years, the diner has been a treasured location in Depew and their success shows no sign of stopping thanks to the welcoming atmosphere, nostalgia, and outstanding food. I’d like to thank owners John and Russ for everything they do, and especially for welcoming me in for a visit. Be sure to check them out and continue supporting small businesses throughout our community!”
