Longtime Fireman Honored for Fifty Years of Service to the North Bailey Volunteer Fire Company

Erie County, NY – Erie County Legislator Jeanne Vinal presented a proclamation to Firefighter Carl Geib at a gala in his honor earlier this month. Carl Geib of Amherst has devoted fifty years to defending the town of Amherst as a member of the North Bailey Volunteer Fire Company.

“It was an honor for me to present this proclamation to Carl on behalf of the Erie County Legislature. He and his family have selflessly served this area for half a century now. The Geib family has a long history of service as volunteers in our community, and  I feel privileged to acknowledge and thank them for it,” said Legislator Vinal.

Mr. Geib formally served as a Truck Captain, EMS Assistant Captain, Director, and Exempts Association Vice President during his tenure with the fire company. His wife, Sue and daughter Katie are both active members of the Ladies Auxiliary, while other members of his family including his brother and father have served as volunteer firemen as well.
