S&P Global Ratings raised its underlying rating (SPUR) on Akron Village, N.Y.'s general obligation (GO) debt two notches to "A" from "BBB+". The rating action reflects the S&P's opinion of the Village of Akron's strengthened management policies and resulting improved financial performance. Mayor Carl E. Patterson congratulated Treasurer Tammy Kelley as well as the Department Heads, the Finance Committee and the Village Board for a great job!

Please attend the Village of Akron and Town of Newstead's Final Public Meeting for the Joint Comprehensive Plan on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.  A Presentation of the Comprehensive Plan Results and Recommendations will begin at 7pm.  Hope to see you there!!

The Village of Akron DPW is asking you to use your discretion and recommending you keep your tap water faucet at a drip to keep pipes from freezing!

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call the DPW office at 716-542-2680 during business hours (7 am - 4 pm). 

Village of Akron Sewer Plant Foreman, Robert J. Lucia and Robert C. Lucia were presented the 2017 New York Rural Water Association "Wastewater System of the Year" in recognition of their forward thinking and commitment in protecting the environment at the NY Rural Water Association Workshop on May 23, 2017.  Great job guys!
