Comptroller's Office Creates Vacancy Savings

The Office of Erie County Comptroller will save $476,058 in the department’s 2013 budget when five lower level patronage positions were eliminated and replaced later in the year with four professional accountants.  The significant vacancy savings is being reported by the Comptroller’s Office to the Office of Budget and Management. 


Whistleblower Hotline Report Released

The Office of Erie County Comptroller received and investigated 67 tips on its confidential “Whistleblower Hotline” for the first six months of the year.  Information was shared via email, telephone, or letter.  Some of the tips to the “Whistleblower Hotline” resulted in positive changes to stop waste, fraud, and abuse within Erie County government.

2nd Quarter Financial Report 2013

The office of Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw released an interim financial report for the Second Quarter of 2013 that includes continued calls to closely monitor lower than projected sales tax revenue compared to what the administration projected they would be.
