COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW, LAW ENFORCEMENT, CONTRACTORS WARN OF HOMEOWNER SCAMS

With the weather finally cooperating for home improvement projects, Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw, construction professionals and members of law enforcement are joining forces to remind taxpayers how to protect themselves against contractor scams. Comptroller Mychajliw, Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard, Domenic Cortese, local radio host and owner of Cortese Construction, and homeowner Sabrina Young came together on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 to share constructive ideas on how to avoid being taken advantage of and potentially losing thousands of dollars.  

COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW TEAMS UP WITH COPS TO CRACK DOWN ON ILLEGAL PARKING IN HANDICAPPED SPOTS

On the heels of a report from Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw that shows surcharges for parking illegally in handicapped spots are up 36 percent for the first quarter of 2018 compared to the first quarter of 2017, law enforcement is teaming up with Comptroller Mychajliw to crack down on able bodied people that break the law by parking in spaces designated for individuals living with disabilities.

COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW JOINS FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING WITH UKRAINIAN ATTORNEYS AND PUBLIC OFFICIALS

Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw hosted numerous elected leaders and lawyers from Ukraine recently as part of Open World 2018 through the International Institute of Buffalo to discuss Erie County’s strong efforts to combat human trafficking.  Most of Comptroller Mychajliw’s family were born in Ukraine and came to the United States in 1965.  The delegation of Ukrainian lawyers and public officials flew in from Ukraine to meet with Comptroller Mychajliw.

Erie County Comptroller Stefan Iwan Mychajliw is the son of Polish and Ukrainian immigrants, the youngest of seven children, who grew up in blue-collar beginnings near the corner of William and Fillmore on the East Side of Buffalo.

The people of Erie County first elected Mychajliw Erie County Comptroller on November 6th, 2012. Husband to Ashley, a social worker, and proud father of Mia Theresa Mychajliw, a student at Cleve Hill.
