COMPTROLLER REPORT RAISES CONCERNS ABOUT NURSING HOME DEATHS, REPORTING

Now that Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. has asked for a federal investigation of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s decision to send sick seniors stricken with COVID back into nursing homes, the Office of Erie County Comptroller  released a report to the Erie County Legislature today on nursing home deaths in the region.

COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW RELEASES FIRST SALES TAX DATA FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL

The first receipt of sales tax revenue for Erie County for the month of April 2020 is $34,637,590.30, compared to $50,881,053.44 for the first receipt of April 2019.  That's down 31.9% compared to last year.

Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. is requesting the federal government investigate why New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is refusing to allow some Erie County hospitals to resume elective surgeries like the rest of the state, stating his actions are punitive in nature.

Erie County Comptroller Stefan Iwan Mychajliw is the son of Polish and Ukrainian immigrants, the youngest of seven children, who grew up in blue-collar beginnings near the corner of William and Fillmore on the East Side of Buffalo.

If you are, or work for, a County Clerk in New York State and you suspect that a person who is in the United States illegally has applied for a driver’s license, you can anonymously report it to ICE by calling their hotline at 1-866-347-2423 or electronically on their website. OR, utilize our Erie County hotline, and we will forward all tips.

Whether it is local tax dollars from the county surplus or federal funds, your taxes are being used to cover costs associated with the county-wide response to the COVID-19 public health crisis.
