Multiple mask distributions planned in the City of Buffalo in coordination with the Live Well Erie Mobile Unit

(Buffalo, NY) – As a candidate in 2017, April N.M. Baskin vowed that she would advocate for a mobile unit that would take county services out of the Rath building and into communities in need. In 2019, the Live Well Erie Mobile Unit Van was announced through a partnership with the Poloncarz administration.

This week, Erie County Legislature Chairwoman April N. M. Baskin will distribute thousands of masks directly to residents in the City of Buffalo via the Mobile Unit. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of this delivery service and pick up masks for themselves and their families. Wearing face coverings while in public helps to stop the spread of COVID-19, better positions our community to reopen and ultimately saves the lives of vulnerable community members.

“I am grateful to County Executive Poloncarz for listening to my concerns and making this a reality for county residents who have significant travel barriers. The Mobile Unit enables us to bring supplies and services directly to the people we serve. Now more than ever, we need to prepare our communities to advocate for themselves and make public health their first priority. We are all safer when we have the resources we need,” stated Chairwoman Baskin.
