The CARES Act stimulus bill provides $159 million to Erie County.  With strings attached.  It must be spent directly on Coronavirus expenses.  "I commend that," said Erie County Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw.  "The problem: we cannot use the funds to offset losses of sales tax revenue.  I reached out to Senators Schumer and Gillibrand asking them to remedy this in future federal legislation."
