(Buffalo) – Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw released the following statement after a phone call with the new owner of the McKinley Mall:
“I had a very a positive conversation late Thursday night with Mike Kohan, new owner of the McKinley Mall. I wished him well and congratulated him on the purchase. We agreed to meet soon, possibly when he closes on the purchase of the property. I look forward to working with him and all businesses to help them grow in Hamburg. Our role in government is to create a culture where the private sector can succeed. We do that by holding the line on taxes, reducing government spending, and cutting bureaucratic red tape.”
“Yes, we expect him and all businesses to be good neighbors, pay taxes and invest in our community. This relationship with the new owner of the McKinley Mall should begin with a spirit of collaboration. Those that seek to start this new partnership with antagonism and vitriol are the same anti-business radicals that will destroy Hamburg’s tax base.”
