Diamond Saw Works in Chaffee hosted Comptroller Mychajliw on a business tour
(CHAFFEE, NY) – Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw, Jr. recently toured Diamond Saw Works, located in Chaffee, New York, as part of his ongoing effort to learn more about area businesses and manufacturers, and to gain a keen understanding of what makes this region unique.
“Diamond Saw is an impressive operation,” said Mychajliw. “Their dedicated employees take great pride in the work they do. It’s a family friendly company that produces saw blades used all over the world. I greatly appreciate the warm hospitality shown to me during my extensive business tour.”
Diamond Saw Works has been manufacturing saw blades for more than 120 years. The company got its start in Buffalo in the 1890s making hacksaw blades and saw machines. Its corporate headquarters and factory were moved to Chaffee in 1956.
The company is employee owned. Company President Jim Ziemer took Comptroller Mychajliw on a tour of the facility, demonstrating how large and small-scale blades are manufactured. Diamond Saw also has four warehouses across the country.
“Small businesses and manufacturers like Diamond Saw are the backbone of this region,” said Mychajliw. “Their investment in and commitment to the community is put on display each and every day. Because of that, dozens of hard working folks have been able to make a living and raise their own families in the place they’ve called home for generations.”
The business employs about fifty workers.
“I want to thank Jim Ziemer and the tremendous staff for taking the time to show us what they do. Diamond Works is a unique business with a long-established reputation of producing quality products and providing excellent customer service.”
