COMPTROLLER ISSUES STATEMENT ON LEGISLATOR HARDWICK CUTTING INCREASED SUPPORT FOR STRUGGLING BUSINESSES

ERIE COUNTY COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW HAS RELEASED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT:

“Kevin Hardwick is a lying, hypocritical fraud that voted for a meaningless, ‘feel good’ resolution generically supporting businesses, then stabbed them in the back in the same meeting by voting against an additional $5 million in COVID aid for businesses.

Kevin Hardwick also ran ultra-conservative Rick Santorum’s presidential campaign here, then flip flopped to the political party that strongly supports defunding police, Black Lives Matter and riots in the streets that destroyed buildings and businesses. Hypocrites and frauds that live in glass houses should not throw stones.

Kevin Hardwick begged the politically connected not to foreclose on the home of his personal Legislative aide, even though she refused to pay property taxes for many years. Any other person in Erie County would have had their home sold for unpaid taxes.

Kevin Hardwick lied to constituents when he promised to donate a big portion of his legislative salary to charity, pocketing most of the cash.

Adding insult to injury, Kevin Hardwick never publicly reported income he earned while doing political consulting on the side for a Binghamton area judge.

Fraud. Hypocrite. Liar. Kevin Hardwick should clean up his personal, political and legal messes before he attacks anyone else.”
