COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW STATEMENT ON GOVERNOR HOCHUL’S PICK OF “DEFUND THE POLICE” RADICAL AS LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR

(Erie County) – “Hamburg’s own Kathy Hochul just picked a ‘defund the police’ extremist from New York City to be our Lieutenant Governor. At one time Hochul banned illegals from obtaining licenses as Erie County Clerk and was given an ‘A’ rating by the NRA. Once Governor Hochul hitched her political wagon to Andrew Cuomo she supports partial birth abortion, the confiscation of guns and aligning herself with downstate progressives that will defund the police.  Politicians like her are a dime a dozen. Right leaning when running in a conservative area. Ultra-liberal when running for Governor in a dark blue state.

 Taxpayers do not have to wait until the 2022 Governor’s race to reject this radical extremism. Local elections matter. Beware of radical socialists in the Working Families Party that want to defund police. Whether it is India Walton or local candidates representing the Working Families Party, taxpayers must reject radical socialists whose mission it is to defund the police. Kathy Hochul’s selection is a slap in the face to every brave woman and man in law enforcement in Erie County and across New York State”
