Trophy Point Construction Services is headquartered in a historic Blasdell home built during the Pan American Exposition
(BLASDELL) – Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. continues business tours across Erie County with a visit to Trophy Point Construction Services on South Park Avenue in Blasdell. Started by highly decorated Iraq and Afghanistan combat veteran Rich Chudzik, you would be hard pressed to find a massive construction project in the northeast without this Blasdell based business having a direct hand in finishing the job, on time, and at or under budget.
While the consulting firm is based in the Buffalo area, their team works with architects, engineers, construction managers, and general contractors on buildings and projects across the country.
Trophy Point consultants are hired before a project begins to study the feasibility of building costs and construction. Are deadlines reasonable? Are projected costs likely to come in over or under budget? Can what is being proposed be built as planned? Then during the actual construction their consultants will provide a continuous analysis from beginning to end to keep the project moving, completed in a reasonable time frame and at the expected cost.
Many customers ask employees where the name of the company originated. Each year, thousands of people from around the world visit West Point, and in particular, Trophy Point. That specific location provides a beautiful, scenic view of the Hudson River. Since the days of the American Revolution, it has been used to display captured weapons of war.
As for their Blasdell offices located at 4588 South Park Avenue, it was built in 1901: same year as the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo. The 15,000 square foot office is home to ornate woodwork with the original horse barn, draped with a massive American flag, in the rear of the house. At one time it was home to a convent with a separate small house for visiting clergy.
“I thank Rich Chudzik for honorably serving our great nation. We owe him and all veterans a debt of gratitude we can never repay. Their Hamburg headquarters are stunning. The building is an architectural gem with intricate woodwork throughout. More impressive is the team that works inside the brick and mortar of the business with historic roots.”
“The foundation of their values were cultivated from the discipline and honor of serving our great nation in the military: accountability, mission first, quality, relationships, teamwork, integrity, purpose driven, and respect. It is an honor and privilege that Trophy Point calls Erie County home,” said Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr.
President & Owner Rich Chudzik is the son an ironworker and a veteran infantry officer, graduating from West Point. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne and is the recipient of a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, multiple ARCOMs, and the Army Achievement Medal. He holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree from West Point, a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Duke University, and a Master's of Engineering from Cornell University.
Trophy Point was founded by Chudzik along with Executive Vice President Joseph Dommer, a long-time member of the Construction Services Industry. With a degree in Construction Management Technology, Mr. Dommer's experience includes many public, university, K-12, healthcare, and complex industrial projects where he has served as the partner-in-charge and directly as the Chief Cost Estimator.
