NYS Requests Members of Western District Incident Management Team

ERIE COUNTY, NY— Today, six Erie County members of the Western District Incident Management team deployed to Nassau County for a 7-day operational period following yesterday’s request by New York State for their activation. An additional request for a second team to deploy next week was also approved by Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz.

“I want to thank these teams for their service and wish them good luck,” said Poloncarz. “They are great representatives of Erie County.”

Representing Erie County in the initial deployment are Daniel Neaverth, Jr., Gregory Butcher, Tiger Schmittendorf, Tracy Fricano-Chalmers, Scott Patronik and Melissa Calhoun. The representatives in the week two team thus far are John Adolf, JT Glass, Jeff Mondo, and Jeff Hartman.

The team will join personnel from Livingston, Monroe and Chautauqua counties in the downstate deployment. Upon reporting to Nassau County, they will work with the Federal team in coordinating an Area Command for the entire region affected by Hurricane Sandy, including New York City, Long Island and New Jersey.
