Quick, Unanimous Approvals of Administration Proposals Will Expedite Upcoming Projects

ERIE COUNTY, NY— Today, Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz issued the following statement after the Erie County Legislature unanimously approved both the administration’s proposed $29.4 million road and bridge project plan and an accompanying bond resolution to finance the work. The Legislature’s quick action clears the way for work to begin on road and bridge projects across Erie County.

Poloncarz said, “I thank the Erie County legislature for unanimously approving the 2015 road and bridge project package along with the bond resolution submitted by my administration. Because of their efficient and non-acrimonious approval of these items, the Erie County Department of Public Works will be able to quickly send projects out to bid and get the infrastructure improvement process moving following the harsh winter that is just concluding. Today’s action is the culmination of a yearly process, and the cordial manner in which it was carried out indicates that the Legislature joins my administration in placing a high priority on attending to our roads and bridges. I thank them for their attention to this matter and for working with me to demonstrate to residents that government can work together and be responsive to the community’s needs.”
