ERIE COUNTY, NY—Today, Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz issued the following statement regarding plans for repaving the final stretch of Eden Evans Center Road in the Town of Eden. Bids for the work are currently being accepted by the Erie County Department of Public Works.
Poloncarz said, “Eden Evans Center Road is an important arterial in the Southtowns and is used by 3,700 motorists each day. The wear and tear from all that traffic and also from our Western New York winters contributed to deterioration of the road surface. To help combat that, I have authorized the Department of Public Works to accept bids for the repaving of the road, which will be opened this week. My administration is conducting nearly $30 million in road improvement projects in 2015 and is committed to conducting as much infrastructure work as possible. In every corner of Erie County, we are working hard to provide residents and motorists with the roads they deserve.”
In 2011, 2012, and 2014, Erie County rehabilitated Eden Evans Center Road from Route 5 to the east to Derby Road to the west. The final section, headed east to Route 62 in Eden, will now be milled and overlaid (paved) to complete work on the road.
