The Erie County Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry has announced that county golf courses are being prepared for the opening of the 2018 golf season, with the Elma Meadows course expected to open tomorrow (Wednesday, May 2) morning at 7 a.m. The Grover Cleveland course currently remains too wet to allow play but Parks personnel will be evaluating the conditions daily and are hoping that conditions will permit opening in the very near future.

“After a long winter and a brutal early spring the sun is out and thoughts of spring are in the air, so naturally golfers want to get out and work on their games. Erie County’s two courses provide players of all skill levels an opportunity for challenging rounds of golf,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz. “Erie County golf passes are a great value because they provide affordable, unlimited golf on two exceptional courses, each of which present unique challenges to men, women and children of all ages.”

“Elma Meadows is ready to go and we are closely monitoring Grover Cleveland every day as conditions continue to dry out,” said Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Forestry Dan Rizzo. “As a friendly reminder, it is always a good idea to check the weather forecast, especially early in the season, and call the course to check conditions before coming out.”

2018 Season golf passes for Erie County’s two courses are available for purchase. Interested golfers should visit the Application link and follow the instructions to get their pass.
