Today, Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz announced that a tentative agreement on a new six-year contract has been reached between Erie County and CSEA Local 815 – Erie County Unit. CSEA membership is expected to vote on the agreement in early January.
Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz said, “Contract negotiations always involve an open dialogue and good faith efforts on both sides. This tentative agreement is the culmination of those efforts, and I want to thank Commissioner of Labor Relations Steve Miller and his team along with the CSEA Local 815 team for working out a proposed contract that respects labor and the taxpayers.”
“These negotiations have not been easy. All parties came to the table fully prepared to bargain aggressively,” said CSEA’s Erie County Local & Unit President Denise Szymura and Labor Relations Specialist Robert Mueller. “In the end though, CSEA feels that we reached a mutually beneficial agreement that treats our members fairly. We are confident in the terms of the agreement, and will start the process of informing our members of the details very soon.”
The tentative agreement covers the period between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2022. There are 2,400 CSEA Local 815 members employed by Erie County, along with an additional 1,500 members employed by the Erie County Medical Center Corporation (“ECMCC”), Erie Community College (“ECC”), and the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library.
