Today Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz took part in early voting for the 2020 Presidential Election, casting his ballot at St. Columba-Brigid Church on Hickory Street in the City of Buffalo’s Ellicott District. Early voting in Erie County began on Saturday October 24 at 37 voting locations countywide, with residents able to cast their vote at any location they choose, and will continue through Sunday November 1. The Erie County Board of Elections reports that over 28,000 voters participated in the process over the past two days, more than all who voted early in 2019, with lines forming at the downtown Board of Elections voting site and at some other locations.  

 “Today is the third day of early voting countywide and participation has been tremendous, signaling the interest in this Presidential election and also showing how enthusiastic Erie county voters are to take part. What’s happening locally mirrors what is occurring on the national scale as well, with voters willing to stand in lines when necessary to cast their ballots,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz. “Thanks to the Erie County Board of Elections the process is moving smoothly and safely here through the first few days and voters do not have to face some of the extraordinary wait times we have seen in other states. With six days of early voting still remaining before Election Day there are plentiful opportunities for voters to take part.”

Early Voting locations will be open from noon – 9:00 PM on Tuesday October 27, Wednesday October 28, Thursday October 29 and Friday October 30.

All locations will also be open from noon – 6:00 PM on Saturday October 31 and Sunday November 1, the last day of early voting.

Polls will be open countywide from 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM on Election Day, Tuesday November 3.
