Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz has issued a travel advisory for all of Erie County beginning at 6:00 PM today, Saturday April 14 2018. An approaching storm is expected to result in icing on roadways along with the potential for power outages and downed tree limbs, especially in northern Erie County and into Niagara County. Unnecessary travel is discouraged across all of the affected area.
“After consulting with various county officials and with the National Weather service, I am issuing a travel advisory for all of Erie County from 6 PM today until further notice. This is a precautionary measure to help ensure public safety as a combination of ice, rain and wind threatens our region this weekend,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz. “We are urging residents to stay off the roads as much as possible during this wintry event, for their own protection and to minimize potential problems for the Public Works and Emergency Services personnel who will be working to keep us all safe through this weather event.”
