Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz was joined Monday night by a standing-room only crowd in the meeting room of the North Collins Public Library for the first of several Town Hall meetings this month to present his administration’s school expense report, “Examining School District Expenses and Potential for Consolidation in Erie County” and to discuss the report with residents. Over 70 people were in attendance for the County Executive’s presentation and the following question-and-answer session, which lasted until nearly 9:00 PM, starting a community-wide conversation that will continue through this month and into the summer.

“Monday night’s meeting brought new information to residents and enabled us to engage in a constructive conversation where all voices were heard. There has been a lot of disinformation circulating about this report, so it was good to talk face-to-face with people to inform them of what issues we identified and to discuss potential tax savings through more shared services for districts,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz.  “Not everyone agreed, but everyone who wanted to speak did so and we had a respectful, wide-ranging discussion that lasted well into the evening. This conversation will continue and grow, and I thank the North Collins Public Library for hosting the first Town Hall and getting the discussion started.”

The Poloncarz administration released the report in April 2018.
