Today, Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz issued the following statement after the Erie County Legislature’s passage of the Erie County Public Health Act of 2018:
Poloncarz said, “I thank the legislature for unanimously passing this important legislation, part of which I proposed in 2016 in my State of the County address. This bi-partisan omnibus legislation takes important steps to protect children and people in public spaces from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke. In addition, Erie County now joins the growing list of counties and municipalities across the country who are choosing to limit the sale of tobacco products in pharmacies. I am confident that this law will lead to improved health outcomes for Erie County residents and cleaner air for all.”
