  • Members of local, county, and state law enforcement announced plans for increased enforcement and extra patrols as part of the state and national DWI Enforcement Campaign May 26 through May 30, 2023.  Dedicated DWI patrols and sobriety checkpoints await impaired drivers throughout the county.

    So far this year nearly 700 drivers have been arrested for Impaired Driving in Erie County. Those convicted of DWI can expect to pay an average of $10,000 in fines and other costs and are prohibited from entering Canada for 10 years. Motorists are encouraged to use the many safe, convenient, and low-cost alternatives to driving after drinking.

The Buffalo Niagara Convention Center on Franklin Street in downtown Buffalo will be the site for the Behavioral Health & Human Services Career Fair, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 7th.

Hosted by the Erie County Department of Mental Health, the event will feature over 50 different participating agencies. The career fair will take place during two different time periods: 11am to 2pm; and 4pm to 6pm.

Applicants are asked to bring printed copies of their resume and be prepared for potential on-site interviews, with many of the agencies seeking new employees actively recruiting for an array of positions at various skill levels.

The Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, located at 153 Franklin St. in Buffalo, is accessible to people with disabilities. Handicapped meter parking will be available on Franklin Street, Pearl Street and other surroundings streets. Any guests or clients with special needs are asked to contact the BNCC Administrative Office at (716) 855-5555 so the appropriate accommodations can be made.
