The Erie County Personnel Department and ASPA Buffalo Niagara Chapter, the local chapter for the American Society for Public Administration, will host a Public Service Job Fair on Wednesday, May 24 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Buffalo & Erie County Central Public Library in downtown Buffalo. The event will be free and open to the public.

Interested job seekers should meet in the lobby of the Mason O. Damon Auditorium inside the library, located at 1 Lafayette Square in Buffalo. Event organizers recommend that all participants dress in business casual attire and bring copies of their resume. A variety of public sector employers will discuss job openings and application processes for positions ranging from entry-level to experienced.

The Erie County Personnel Department and ASPA Buffalo Niagara Chapter created the job fair as part of events across the country in May to recognize the importance of public service.

“Government-affiliated organizations are some of the largest employers in our region,” said Brian Bray, commissioner of the Erie County Department of Personnel and a board member and past president of ASPA Buffalo Niagara Chapter. “In addition to competitive wages and generous benefits, working in local government provides the opportunity to make a difference in your community. We invite all job seekers to attend this upcoming job fair, where they can meet with representatives from various public sector organizations and explore exciting career possibilities.”

“Public administration is a vital field for ensuring vibrant and sustainable communities,” added Chris Marcello, president of ASPA Buffalo Niagara Chapter. “This is a career field with high demand and opportunities for professional growth. We hope this event can build relationships and introduce people to the many possibilities right here in Western New York.”
