Erie County will stop operation of a temporary telephone hotline that was activated as a result of the recent snowstorm effective Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 7a.m.
The dedicated phone line had been used to help coordinate transportation for dialysis, chemotherapy treatments, prescription medications and other critical medical needs by dispatching assistance from the Erie County Emergency Operations Center, which was opened last week in anticipation of severe adverse weather conditions and related travel restrictions.
With the end of all travel bans and the stand down of the Emergency Operations Center, this public line will no long be needed.
County officials remind the public to always dial 9-1-1 for traditional emergencies that require some type of medical assistance.
