The Erie County Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, in conjunction with the Chestnut Ridge Conservancy, has announced an outdoor event designed to stimulate artistic interests in the unique setting of one of Erie County’s most beautiful and historic parks. “Artify the Park” will gather the skills of artists, photographers and craftsmen at Chestnut Ridge Park on Sunday, September 25 from 11 am – 4 pm to demonstrate their techniques and share their knowledge with event participants. Events and artists will be located throughout the park.

“Chestnut Ridge Park has wonderful natural beauty, and this event will place that beauty at the center of artistic expressions of many kinds. It is an opportunity to experience the Park as natural art, see it through another’s eyes and learn from them, and create our own artistic expressions,” said Commissioner of Park, Recreation and Forestry Daniel J. Rizzo. “The Chestnut Ridge Conservancy is a great partner in this event, and I thank them for their commitment to this Park and its natural wonder.”

Event attendees who wish to paint with demonstrators or participate in photography should bring the necessary supplies and equipment for these activities. A free event, “Artify the Park” will also feature hands-on activities for children and adults and a “paws on” activity for dogs. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
