Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz and Commissioner of Senior Services Timothy Hogues today joined enthusiastic seniors at the Gloria Parks Community Center in Buffalo to honor and celebrate Brenda Favor as the “Senior of the Month” for September 2018. Mrs. Favor became a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer (“RSVP”) Program in 2009 as a fitness instructor for the Schiller Park and Gloria J. Parks Community Centers and recently began a similar monthly program at Friendship Baptists Church in Buffalo, where she is a member and coordinator of the Senior Ministry. Since 2016 she has served as a member of the People, Inc. Senior Companion Advisory Group assisting fellow seniors in attaining optimal range of motion and muscle strength along with improvement in activities for daily living. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Favor is married to Hugh Macy Favor.
