County Executive Lauds Investments in Roads, Bridges, Wastewater Infrastructure

ERIE COUNTY, NY— Today, Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz issued the following statement in support of Governor Cuomo’s 2016 State of the State address, delivered yesterday in Albany:

“Among the many wise investments Governor Cuomo proposed in his State of the State address was a renewed and reinvigorated call for infrastructure improvements across New York, particularly with a $22 billion multi-year capital plan to improve upstate roads and bridges along with funding to support wastewater infrastructure improvements. Erie County has invested nearly one hundred million dollars over the past four years in necessary road and bridge improvements as well, but the elements are relentless and the battle to keep our infrastructure in good shape never ends. Additionally, we are investing millions in cleaner water and protecting our environmental heritage through the Rush Creek Interceptor, which is currently under construction and will ultimately provide greatly improved waste water treatment for Erie County. In these areas and more, Governor Cuomo’s infrastructure investments are both prudent and welcome and will assist greatly in providing the vital infrastructure that residents depend on and that will attract more business to our community.”
