Today we were reminded that members of local law enforcement and first responders place their lives on the line every day they go to work to ensure the protection of our greater community. On behalf of the people of Erie County, I offer my deepest condolences and thoughts to the family of Buffalo Police Officer Craig Lehner, as well as to the members of the Buffalo Police Department, for the loss of their loved one and colleague, respectively. I thank all police officers, first responders and others who assisted in the search and recovery effort, including members of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, and Departments of Emergency Services and Central Police Services. Buffalo is known as the City of Good Neighbors, and today we join our brethren in the City of Buffalo in mourning the loss of Officer Lehner.
