All Erie County Auto Bureaus will observing the following Holidays: New Year's Day; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; President's Day; Good Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Election Day; Veterans' Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas.
Auto Bureau Offices are closed on the Saturday preceeding Monday holidays.
The services provided at the Auto Bureau include:
- Renewals for operator and motorcycle licenses, permits, and non-driver identification (ID) cards.
- CDL renewals (except for Hazmat or towing endorsements)
- Written tests for operators and motorcycle permits
- Duplicates for all types of licenses, permits and non-driver ID cards
- Amendments to all types of licenses, permits and non-driver ID cards
- Conversion of out-of-state driver licenses to New York
- Renewals of registrations
- New plates for passenger and commercial vehicles, trailers and motorcycles
- Duplicate plates for passenger and commercial vehicles, trailers and motorcycles
- Amendment to registrations for all vehicle types
- Plate transfers from one vehicle to another for all vehicle types
- Plate surrenders
- Enforcement matters including DWI, insurance lapses
