More From Our Department

The County of Erie, New York (the “County”) is currently seeking Proposal Statements from qualified firms interested in providing engineering services.

The design goal will be to enhance the ecosystem at property along Big Sister Creek to function as a natural filter for upstream pollutants such as nutrients, sediment, and pathogens in order to protect resources downstream. The Project recognizes that the area is connected to the downstream beach at the mouth of the A - 3 Creek, as well as the upstream areas and will help to maintain and enhance that habitat connectivity. The design will also integrate the ecological aspects of the project including wildlife habitat, fisheries needs, and native plant populations with the social aspects including bathing beach users, park visitors, and those who fish while recognizing the economics of the Project. Clean water and resilient environments have economic value to the municipalities and private residents who benefit from resources such as bathing beaches, as well as flood protection.
