Legislature honors Polish American Congress WNY Division

The Erie County Legislature Minority Caucus presented members of the Polish American Congress with a proclamation in celebration of their Grand Gala and ‘Ball Polonaise.’ This year’s event will commemorate 100 years of Poland’s Independence.

The Polish American Congress was established in Buffalo in May of 1944 and promotes knowledge about Polish Americans and the Polish American community. Their organization also promotes bilateral relations between the United States and Poland in business, education, government and healthcare.

“The Polish American Congress does an outstanding job honoring and promoting Western New York’s prevalent polish heritage,” said Legislator Lynne Dixon. “We are proud to recognize their many accomplishments in our region.”

“The Polish American Congress does a tremendous job celebrating Western New York’s Polish heritage and promoting Polish culture,” said Legislator Joe Lorigo. “We are lucky to have their organization in our community.”

“At the Legislature, we are proud to support the Polish American Congress and their great efforts in our community,” said Legislator Ed Rath. “I hope everyone had a great time at this year’s Grand Gala and Ball Polonaise!”

“President Jim Lawicki and the Polish American Congress lead the way in preserving, promoting and educating the community about our region’s Polish heritage. We are happy to support their annual gala and encourage their organization to keep up the great work.”

This is a historic event and we are very gracious and appreciative for everything Erie County has done for the community.”
