Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo responds to Governor’s comments in State of the State about ridesharing

“I was happy to hear Governor Cuomo make ridesharing a priority in his State of the State address in Buffalo.  As Governor Cuomo said today, ‘If it makes sense for downstate, it makes sense for upstate.’ Legislation allowing ridesharing for all of New York State has languished far too long.  Our State Legislators must find a way to act as quickly as possible to further economic development, increase New Yorkers’ access to reliable transportation, and protect our safety on the road.  I join many voices who are tired of the excuses and the influence of special interest groups who continually block ridesharing from operating throughout the State.  We are ready for results. I’d ask our local delegation to continue their fight in Albany so Western New York can have the same amenities as New York City and the rest of the country.”
