Erie County’s 2018 budget approved 11-0

The Erie County Legislature approved the amended 2018 Erie County budget at today’s session by a vote of 11-0. The budget lowers the tax rate for the fourth consecutive year while providing funding for critical services and invests in several community organizations and service groups.

Legislature’s Majority Caucus donates 40 turkeys to Rock Out Hunger

The Erie County Legislature’s Majority Caucus joined 97 Rock, DJ Jickster, WKBW and the Food Bank of WNY to help provide Thanksgiving meals to families in Erie County. The Majority Caucus – Chairman John Mills, Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo, Legislator Edward Rath, Legislator Kevin Hardwick, Legislator Lynne Dixon and Legislator Ted Morton – donated 40 turkeys to the 12th annual 97 Rock – Operation: Rock Out Hunger trailer on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017.

Majority Caucus supports proposal to eliminate fee veterans are required to pay to obtain archived military records

The Erie County Legislature’s Majority Caucus sponsored a resolution at Thursday’s session in support of proposal that would eliminate fees charged to veterans and/or their next of kin to obtain archived records. The bill, H.R. 4325, was recently introduced by Rep. Brian Higgins.
