Legislator Dixon, Unyts to host blood drive at Lackawanna Library

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon is partnering with Unyts and the Lackawanna Library to host a blood drive during a time of year when donations are historically low.  

Legislator Dixon thanks State Senate, Assembly for approving bill to help firefighters who develop cancer

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon thanks the members of the New York State Assembly and Senate for approving legislation that would benefit volunteer firefighters who develop cancer due to being exposed to carcinogens while protecting the community. The bill now moves to Governor Cuomo for final approval.

Legislature approves Legislator Dixon’s resolution in support of protecting police animals

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon announces that the Legislature has voted in support of Mitchell’s Law, a proposal that would make it a Class-E felony to injure a K-9 officer or other police animal throughout New York State. The Legislature approved Legislator Dixon’s resolution at the June 8, 2017 session that urges the New York State Assembly and Governor Cuomo to support the law. Legislator Dixon thanks the NYS Senate for approving Mitchell’s Law in May and for leading the charge.

Legislator Dixon announces Bethlehem Steel Shoreline Trail takes another step forward

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon announces that the Legislature has approved legislation allowing the Bethlehem Steel Shoreline Trail project to move forward. The resolution allows the County Executive to execute inter-municipal agreements with the cities of Lackawanna and Buffalo, as well as adjacent land owners and utility companies, which are necessary in order for construction of the trail. The resolution was approved at the May 25, 2017 session.

Legislator Dixon approves funding for youth programming in Hamburg, Lackawanna & South Buffalo

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon is pleased to announce that 2017 Summer Primetime funding for several youth centers benefiting Hamburg, Lackawanna and South Buffalo residents was approved unanimously at the May 25, 2017 session. The funding will be used for programming and to provide youths with supervised, recreational activities during the upcoming summer recess. The total investment into Primetime Funding totaled $500,000.
