Legislature’s Majority Caucus cuts spending, delivers tax decrease in 2015

The Erie County Legislature’s Majority Caucus has revised County Executive Mark Poloncarz’s proposed 2015 budget that only held the line on taxes and approved a budget that decreases taxes. The Majority Caucus’s cuts to the budget provided much needed tax relief for residents in 2015.

Leading by example, Legislature reduces own budget for 2015

At today’s Annual Budget Meeting the Erie County Legislature Majority Caucus voted to reduce its own budget by nearly $100,000. The reduction was achieved by eliminating a position, slashing the office supply budget line and reducing its rental costs, among other cuts.

Legislator Dixon names Joseph Ruszala as Citizen of the Month

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon has named Joseph Ruszala of Hamburg as October’s Citizen of the Month. During the Oct. 16, 2014 session, Legislator Dixon presented a proclamation to Joseph Ruszala in recognition of the work he has done to support his fellow veterans, volunteering many hours with various organizations.
