Southeast District Review

Per New York State Agriculture and Markets Law Section 303-a, the County Legislature is required to review a district eight years after its creation and every eight years thereafter. Agricultural District #6 Sardinia encompasses 22,981 acres in the Towns of Sardinia and Holland. Agricultural District #11 Holland encompasses 17,594 acres in the Towns of Holland, Colden, Sardinia, and Wales. Agricultural District #15 Concord encompasses 45,378 acres in the Towns of Concord, Boston, Colden, and North Collins.

Copies of the application form have been provided to Municipal Clerks, Assessors, and Chief Elected Officials for distribution to interested landowners. The application is also available on the DEP website at www.erie.gov/environment [Below].

The Erie County Department of Environment and Planning will accept applications from December 21st through January 20th. Maps of the districts under review will be [Below] on file and open to public inspection in the office of the County Clerk. Any questions on this process should be directed to the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning. At this time, landowners within the affected municipalities may apply to be added or removed from the Agricultural District.
