Legislator Lorigo calls on State to change policy for placement of convicted sex offenders

Erie County Legislature Majority Leader Joseph C. Lorigo sponsored a resolution calling on New York State to immediately and thoroughly review its policy concerning the placement of convicted sex offenders in state-operated residential housing units.

Erie County Legislature Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo has reached out to New York State leaders asking them to explore all possible options to assist West Seneca residents whose homes were flooded earlier this month.

HEAP Outreach will be held Dec. 3 at Aurora Senior Center

Erie County Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo announces that a Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) Outreach will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Aurora Senior Center, 101 King Street, East Aurora. Interviews will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.  All applicants will be interviewed. 

Legislator Lorigo names Ken Hansen as November’s Citizen of Month

Erie County Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo is honored to announce that he has named Ken Hansen the Erie County Legislature’s Citizen of the Month for November 2013 for his tireless efforts to educate the community about the hazards of carbon monoxide poisoning and to implement regulations that have made every household in New York State safer. Legislator Lorigo recognized Hansen at the Legislature’s Nov. 21 session, marking the honor by presenting Hansen with a county proclamation.

November 2013 Column - True thank you to our veterans is said with quality services

Last week our country marked Veterans Day with ceremonies and memorials honoring those who served in our armed forces. I attended several community events to pay tribute to our brave men and women in uniform and was impressed with the outpouring of support from residents.  There were several parades and ceremonies to say thank you and to recognize the true meaning of the day.
