Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams recognizes the Buffalo United Front, Inc.

Buffalo, NY- Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams presented a proclamation to the Buffalo United Front, Inc. community organization at the regular session of the Legislature on Thursday, June 09, 2016.  The proclamation recognized the group of community volunteers for their commitment to the work they do and their dedication to improving the quality of life and opportunities for young people in the City of Buffalo.

“It is with great honor that I present this proclamation to the Buffalo United Front for all of the great work being done through this community organization. From creating a bicycle riding club on the East side of Buffalo to partnering with other community organizations, Buffalo United Front has been innovative and creative in their outreach efforts and they are making a difference throughout Erie County”, stated Legislator Barbara Miller Williams.

The Buffalo United Front was established in 2007 as a collaboration of front-line community organizations and individuals looking to make an impact on the incidence of violence and to address the post traumatic symptoms experienced by those who have lost a loved one due to violence. The organization has grown over the years and hosts an Annual “Family Fishing Day” at Broderick Park, Annual “Safe Night Out” Halloween Event, Annual MLK, Jr. “Winter Fun Fest” and Weekly Family Bowling Event at Kerns Bowling Lanes where participants pay $1 for games, shoes and food. In addition to hosting an Annual Father’s Day “Herculean Men” Awards Banquet, Buffalo United Front, Inc. is the founding member of the East Side Bike Club that partners with other bike clubs such as Slow Roll Buffalo to offer community youth’s an opportunity to explore the City of Buffalo while improving their health. The organization also partners with members of the Faith Based Community to host an Enough is Enough “I’m A Peacemaker” Weekly Prayer Vigil. Mr. George Johnson is President of the organization.
