This afternoon, the Erie County Legislature approved a contract with Occhino Corp. to begin the reconstruction of Lake Avenue in the Village of Blasdell.
Occhino was awarded the contract as the next-lowest bidder after a bid submitted by Zoladz Construction was rejected. The bid with Zoladz was declined after legislators discovered the company failed to disclose several OSHA violations and a settlement with the federal government for lying about being a Service Disabled Veteran Owned business.
Legislator Dixon said, “I am relieved to announce work will soon begin on Lake Avenue in the Village of Blasdell. While I have been pressuring the administration to prioritize this project and it should have been started years ago, we can finally be assured it will move forward. I thank the residents of Blasdell for their patience and look forward to getting construction underway.”
