Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon visited the Blasdell Fire Company to present a proclamation showing support for the annual RecruitNY initiative.
Recognized from April 27-28, RecruitNY encourages residents to consider becoming a volunteer firefighter. More than 500 participating fire companies opened their doors to showcase their firestations, hold demonstrations with equipment, and offer information on what it means to be a firefighter. Since RecruitNY began, over 20,000 volunteer firefighters have been recruited across New York State.
Legislator Dixon said, “I am proud to support the RecuritNY effort by recognizing the outstanding fire companies throughout our community and all of Erie County. The men and women who volunteer are invaluable to the safety of our community. Thank you to the Blasdell Fire Company and all others across the county for everything you do!”
