Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo has teamed up with local elementary schools in his district for his annual Valentines for Seniors program. Legislator Lorigo collected hundreds of homemade cards from elementary students that were delivered to local nursing homes and senior centers including the West Seneca Senior Center.
Legislator Lorigo said, “We should always remember the seniors who came before us. Every year, I partner with local schools to have students create valentines for senior citizens. This year, especially, I know the cards brought smiles to so many people who have felt isolated as a result of the pandemic. I also know the kids enjoyed making the valentines just as much as the seniors enjoyed receiving them. I want to thank all the students who participated. They truly helped bring joy to some people who need it most.”
Participating elementary schools in District 10 include:
- Clinton Street Elementary School
-
Queen of Heaven School
-
Winchester Elementary School
-
Aurora Waldorf School
-
Parkdale Elementary School
-
Marilla Primary School
-
Elma Primary School
