Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo joined representatives from the Veterans One-stop Center of WNY to kick off a toiletry drive for area veterans and service members abroad.

Beginning now through March 29th, full size and travel size toiletries, including soap/body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, razors, and shaving cream can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • The Aurora Town Library
  • Elma Library
  • Marilla Free Library
  • West Seneca Library
  • West Seneca Senior Center
  • East Aurora Senior Center
  • Erie County Legislature
  • Law Office of Ralph C. Lorigo

Legislator Lorigo said, “We are happy to partner with Veterans One-stop to collect toiletries for our local veterans and the men and women currently serving. These basic essential items can be a tremendous help in getting veterans back on their feet when they return home. Even a small contribution goes a long way. With the help of the community, I am hopeful our drive will make an impact.”

Chuck Marra, President and CEO of Veterans One-stop Center of WNY said,”The need to help veterans grows as more return home every day. There are over currently 129,000 in WNY and that number is steadily increasing. As these brave men and women transition from military to civilian life, some are rebuilding their life all over again.  Some lack basic essential items, like toiletries, clothing, food, and shelter, and it is up to the people they served to provide for them. Thank you Legislator Lorigo for creating the toiletries drive for our soldiers. The mission of the Veterans One-stop Center of WNY is to empower veterans, service members, and their families in that transition from military to civilian life. Items like toiletries help with the most basic needs. We would not be able to empower veterans if it wasn't for the help of people like Legislator Lorigo and those who donate to the drive.”
