Last week, Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo joined Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Timothy Christian to get a first-hand look at the Sheriff’s Road Patrol Division. Legislator Lorigo and Deputy Christian spent the afternoon patrolling areas in the Towns of Elma and Holland.
“I would like to thank Deputy Christian for allowing me to join him, as well as the all of the men and women with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office who work hard every day to keep us safe,” said Legislator Lorigo. “The Legislature is repeatedly faced with important decisions regarding the future of the Sheriff’s Office and it is important to me that I work hard to ensure I’m well informed on the issues presented to me. This ride-along gave an insightful look into the day-to-day operations of our road patrol deputies and the great work they do. It is often easy to get wrapped up in the politics of the elected officials leading county departments, but it is vital to remember that it is the men and women who are on the streets every day that make our county a safe place to live.”
