This week, Erie County Legislator Ed Rath visited VFW posts, the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, and other veterans’ organizations to deliver cards collected through the annual ‘Valentines for Veterans program.’
The cards were made by students from Heim Elementary School, Country Parkway Elementary School, and Clarence Center Elementary School.
Legislator Rath said, “I always look forward to collaborating with local students each year for our ‘Valentines for Veterans program. This year, we collected hundreds of cards with kind words for our veterans and those currently serving our country. It was incredible to visit the Airbase and see the smiles on so many faces as we handed out cards. Thank you to all who participated!”
Master Sgt. Brandy Fowler, 107th Attack Wing Public Affairs Superintendent said, “Valentines for Vets is something we look forward to every year. There are so many smiles on the Airmen’s faces when they see the Valentines and it really brightens the day for our members. Our Airmen are constantly striving to be the best at their jobs in order to deliver combat airpower and remain successful in carrying out our missions critical to the defense of our nation and allies. So this is a great change of pace. It’s heartwarming to see how much time and effort these kids put into making our valentine’s day special.”
