At last week’s session, Erie County Legislator Ed Rath recognized Akron resident Judy More as the Legislature’s June 2019 Citizen of the Month. Legislator Rath presented Judy with a proclamation thanking her for her contributions to the community.

Judy grew up in Tonawanda and moved to Akron in 1996. Since then, she has been involved in a number of charitable organizations, including her role as a founding member of Building Unity through Community. Additionally, she started the Akron Newstead Bike-a-thon to help connect local youth with seniors and advocate for healthy lifestyle choices. She has also been involved in initiatives to help low-income families feed their pets and created the Akron/Newstead Tender Paws free pet food pantry.

Legislator Rath said, “It was my pleasure to present Judy with this well-deserved recognition. Her commitment to helping others and caring for animals is remarkable. We appreciate the many ways she has gone above and beyond to serve our community!”
