Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro honored a Depew couple who recently celebrated their 50^th wedding anniversary.

James and Carol Bednasz met through mutual friends while Carol was busy washing the floor with rollers in her hair—right then in there James asked her out on a date. The couple tied the knot back in October of 1970 at Barnard’s Roman Catholic Church in Buffalo. Shortly after, they moved into their house in Depew where they still live to this day. Mr. and Mrs. Bednasz have three children and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Bednasz is the former owner of Kragel Co. Inc. and Mrs. Bednasz is a retired Registered Nurse from Erie County.

Legislator Todaro said, “James and Carol Bednasz are a prime example that great things require love, hard work and continued sacrifice. Both James and Carol have set the bar high and shown the community what it means to be true team players. Thank you to one of my favorite couples, and here is to 50 more years of true love and friendship!”
