Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro visited Joe Basil Chevrolet in Depew on Veteran’s Day to thank them for their outstanding care for those who have served our nation.
Back in September, Clint Jackson, a 104-year-old Veteran, went to the dealership to buy a 2020 Chevrolet Sonic. Upon arrival, staff noticed his Twentieth Air Force cap which suggested to them he served in World War II. To thank Mr. Jackson for his service, Joe Basil Chevrolet decided to give him his car for free.
Joe Basil Chevrolet has a track record of generosity. Through 2019 they ran an annual “Vehicle for Vets” program that funded both a local Veteran’s center as well as a car giveaway. In 2018, the dealership was recognized by Chevrolet for the 10th consecutive year as dealer of the year.
Legislator Todaro said, “Joe Basil Chevrolet goes above and beyond customer service. Thank you to everyone at the dealership for being a class act and setting an example for the community. Remember, as everyday people, we might not be able to give cars away to Veterans—but we can thank them and tell them how much they mean to us. Often, a little can go a long way.”
