Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro recently presented a proclamation to Christopher George, a 33-year-veteran of the Lancaster Fire Department, to honor him for his heroic efforts and selfless service.
George was travelling on Route 219 when he witnessed a vehicle on fire as a result of an accident—he worked quickly to extinguish the fire so emergency personnel could respond to the scene.
Legislator Todaro said, “Mr. George saw an emergency and without hesitation he risked his life in an attempt to save others. He is the definition of a true hero. It is wonderful to know that there are people like Mr. George out there who wouldn’t think twice to help someone who was in need. Thank you for your bravery and courage!”
